Edmund Tilney

Sir Edmund Tilney (c. 1536–1610) was an English courtier, playwright, and official best known as Master of the Revels under Queen Elizabeth I and King James I. In that role, he supervised court entertainments and exercised censorship over plays, making him an important figure in the development of Elizabethan drama.
