Sandro Lovari is an Italian zoologist and professor at the University of Siena, specializing in animal behavior, ecology, and conservation of mountain ungulates like Caprinae, serows, and gorals.[1][2][5] He earned a diploma from the Humanities Lyceum in Siena and a doctorate (Laurea) in 1972, authoring around 200 full papers, 5 books, and editing 4 more, including works on ungulate biology and management.[1] He chairs the IUCN Caprinae Specialist Group and has received awards such as the Glaxo Prize for Science Popularisation in 1984.[1][5]
