Edith M. Freeman
Edith Maxwell Freeman (1913-1992) was a Montana artist and educator renowned for her woodblock prints celebrating the beauty of Eastern Montana. Born near Broadview, she earned degrees from Eastern Montana College, taught for 30 years in rural schools, and began her printmaking career in the 1960s after marrying rancher Charles William Freeman. Her largest collection resides at the Yellowstone Art Museum in Billings.
