Edgar Gómez Cruz

Edgar Gómez Cruz is an Associate Professor at the School of Information, University of Texas at Austin, and also serves as Assistant Dean for Community and Global Initiatives and Director of the DigiSUR Lab. His research examines digital culture, digital ethnography, material visual practices, photography, data and algorithms, particularly in Latin America and the Global South. He has published extensively, including two books in Spanish on cybersex and internet metaphors, and has been cited over 4,500 times.
