Ed. Hickman, John
John Edward Hickman, known as J. E. Hickman or Ed. Hickman, was a prominent Texas jurist who served as a justice of the Supreme Court of Texas from 1945 to 1948 and as chief justice from 1948 to 1961.[1][2] Born on a family farm in Liberty Hill, Williamson County, Texas, to Nathaniel Franklin and Mary J. (Porterfield) Hickman, he dedicated his career to the state's judiciary.[1][4] Hickman passed away in 1962 after a distinguished legal tenure.[2]
