E. Melanie Watt

Mélanie Watt is a Canadian children's author and illustrator best known for her Scaredy Squirrel series, which won the Ruth & Sylvia Schwartz Children's Book Award, and the Chester series featuring a cat that competes with her for creative control. Born on August 20, 1975, she earned a BA in graphic design from the Université du Québec à Montréal and began her publishing career with Leon the Chameleon in 2001. Her books have sold over two million copies and been translated into 23 languages.[1][3][4]
