E Lawrence

Ernest Orlando Lawrence was an American physicist who won the 1939 Nobel Prize in Physics for inventing the cyclotron, a device that transformed particle acceleration and nuclear research. He later played major roles in the Manhattan Project and helped found the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
