Dr Philip Schaff

Philip Schaff was a Swiss-born American church historian and theologian, best known for his work 'History of the Christian Church' and his role in editing the 'Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers' series. He was a prominent figure in 19th-century theological education, teaching at Mercersburg Seminary and Union Theological Seminary. His scholarship bridged European and American religious thought, and he was a key advocate for evangelical catholicity.
