Dr. Naomi Luban MD

Dr. Naomi Luban, MD is a distinguished pediatric hematologist and transfusion medicine specialist who has spent over 50 years advancing medicine as a physician, researcher, and mentor. Often called the 'mother' or 'grandmother' of pediatric transfusion medicine in the United States, she established the transfusion medicine service and blood donor service at Children's National Hospital, where she has been an attending physician for more than 30 years. Her extensive contributions include publishing over 200 peer-reviewed articles, 40+ book chapters, and editing seven textbooks on pediatric transfusion medicine.
