Dr. Denise L. Herzing

Dr. Denise L. Herzing is the founder and Research Director of the Wild Dolphin Project, conducting nearly four decades of long-term research on the behavior and communication of Atlantic spotted dolphins in Bahamian waters. She holds a B.S. in Marine Zoology (1979), an M.A. in Behavioral Biology (1988), and a Ph.D. in Behavioral Biology/Environmental Studies (1993), and serves as an Affiliate Assistant Professor at Florida Atlantic University. Her notable books include 'Dolphin Diaries: My 25 Years with Spotted Dolphins in the Bahamas' and 'The Wild Dolphin Project,' focusing on cetacean cognition, behavior, and interspecies communication.
