Dr. A. A. Alekhine

Alexander Alekhine (1892–1946) was a Russian-French chess grandmaster who became World Chess Champion in 1927 by defeating José Raúl Capablanca and held the title until 1935, regaining it in 1937 until his death. He was renowned for his tactical brilliance, attacking play, and contributions to chess opening theory, becoming the first world champion to die undefeated and the first full-time dedicated professional chess player of the modern era.
