Douglas E Comer
Douglas E. Comer is a Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at Purdue University, renowned for his pioneering work in TCP/IP protocols and internetworking as one of the earliest researchers in the field. He authored the seminal three-volume textbook series 'Internetworking with TCP/IP' in 1987, which became the authoritative reference for Internet protocols and was translated into 16 languages. A Fellow of the ACM, he has consulted for industry, served as VP of Research at Cisco Systems, edited the journal Software – Practice and Experience for twenty years, and lectured worldwide on computer networks and technologies.
