Dorothea Brande
Dorothea Brande (born Alice Dorothea Alden Thompson) was an American writer, editor, and creative writing instructor based in New York City during the 1930s. She is best known for her enduring guide to the creative process, 'Becoming a Writer,' published in 1934, which remains popular today. Brande also wrote 'Wake Up and Live!', a practical psychology book that sold over a million copies.
