Donold King Lourie

Donold King Lourie '47 was a lawyer, banker, computer professional, and author who graduated from Princeton University and earned a law degree from the University of Michigan in 1953. After retiring, he pursued his passion for writing, obtaining an M.F.A. from Columbia in 1982 and settling in Siasconset, Nantucket, Massachusetts, where he published a memoir and five novels, including two comic mysteries set on Nantucket despite losing his vision to macular degeneration. He married Selma Rayfiel in 1988 and died of pneumonia on October 25, 2008, survived by his wife, five children, and nine grandchildren.[1]
