Donald R. Hickey

Donald R. Hickey (born 1944) is an American historian and retired professor of history at Wayne State College, renowned as 'the dean of 1812 scholarship' for his extensive work on the War of 1812 and early American history. He earned his BA, MA, and PhD from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and has authored twelve books and over a hundred articles, including the acclaimed 'The War of 1812: A Forgotten Conflict.' Hickey received numerous awards, such as the Samuel Eliot Morison Award in 2013, and now focuses on writing and public speaking.[1][2][3][8]
