Donald K. Yeomans

Donald Keith Yeomans is an American astronomer born in Rochester, New York, renowned for his work on comet and asteroid orbits, including the accurate prediction of Comet Halley's return in 1982.[1][2] He served as manager of NASA's Near-Earth Object Program Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory from 1998 until his retirement in 2015, earning over 19 NASA awards, including the Distinguished Service Medal, with asteroid 2956 Yeomans named in his honor.[1][3][5]
