Don Freeman
Don Freeman (1908–1978) was an American painter, printmaker, cartoonist, illustrator, and author best known for children's books like Corduroy and A Pocket for Corduroy. Born in Chula Vista, California, he moved to New York in 1928, supported himself as a musician while studying art, and sketched Broadway for newspapers before entering children's literature in the 1950s.[1][2][3]
