Derek Sayer

Derek Sayer is a professor emeritus at the University of Alberta and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. He is the author of numerous books on Czech history and surrealism, including The Coasts of Bohemia: A Czech History, Prague, Capital of the Twentieth Century: A Surrealist History, Making Trouble: Surrealism and the Social Sciences, and Postcards from Absurdistan: Prague at the End of History, which won the 2023 Canadian Jewish Literary Award for Scholarship. He lives in Calgary, Alberta.
