Deborah Mckinney

Debra McKinney is a fourth-generation journalist from a family tradition started by her great-grandmother who bought the Hillsboro Argus in 1904. She graduated from the University of Montana School of Journalism, worked as a longtime writer for the Anchorage Daily News, winning awards including the 1994 C.B. Blethen Memorial Award, the Dart Award, and contributing to the 1989 Pulitzer Prize-winning 'People in Peril' series. She co-authored Beyond the Bear and lives in Palmer, Alaska, with her husband Paul Morley.
