Dean Baker

Dean Baker is an American economist and author who co-founded the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) in 1999, where he serves as co-director and senior economist. His research focuses on housing, macroeconomics, intellectual property, Social Security, Medicare, and European labor markets, and he runs the blog 'Beat the Press' critiquing economic reporting. He previously worked as a senior economist at the Economic Policy Institute, assistant professor at Bucknell University, and consultant for organizations like the World Bank and OECD.
