Dawud Wharnsby

Dawud Wharnsby (born David Howard Wharnsby) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, poet, performer, educator, and television personality known for pioneering English language nasheed (Islamic spiritual hymns) and spoken word poetry. A multi-instrumentalist who began performing as a street musician in his late teens, he has released 15 solo albums, five poetry anthologies, and collaborated with celebrated artists including Yusuf Islam. His work combines folk, jazz, rock, and world music genres while promoting interfaith dialogue and social change.
