David Weintraub

David Weintraub was a photographer, writer, and editor renowned for his travel guidebooks on hiking and kayaking in the San Francisco Bay Area and Cape Cod, as well as articles on travel, adventure sports, and photography published in outlets like Audubon, Backpacker, Forbes, and Smithsonian. He authored eight travel guidebooks and worked for over 30 years in journalism before teaching full-time as an instructor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of South Carolina from 2007 to 2019. Weintraub passed away on August 25, 2021.
