David W Miller

David W. Miller was a historian specializing in Irish history, known for his critically acclaimed monograph *Church, State, and Nation in Ireland, 1898–1921* (1973) and innovative reinterpretations of Ulster loyalist identity. He taught at Carnegie Mellon University from 1967 until his retirement in 2012, serving in leadership roles within the history department. Miller also authored works blending religious practice, politics, and quantitative methods in Irish historiography.[2][4]
