David Schwimmer is an American actor, director, comedian, and producer best known for portraying Ross Geller on the sitcom Friends from 1994 to 2004, earning a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Emmy nomination.[2][1] Born in Queens, New York, he grew up in Los Angeles, studied theater at Northwestern University, and co-founded the Lookingglass Theatre Company.[1][5] Post-Friends, he directed films like Run Fatboy Run (2007) and Trust (2010), voiced Melman in the Madagascar series, and starred as Robert Kardashian in American Crime Story (2016).[1][2][3]
