David Maybury-Lewis

David Henry Peter Maybury-Lewis (1929–2007) was a British anthropologist and ethnologist specializing in lowland South America, known for his activism for indigenous peoples' human rights and his role as a professor emeritus at Harvard University[1][3]. He co-founded the advocacy organization Cultural Survival in 1972 with his wife Pia to promote the rights and voices of indigenous peoples[1][4]. Maybury-Lewis also hosted the public television series Millennium: Tribal Wisdom and the Modern World, which depicted indigenous lives across 15 countries[6].
