David M. Lawrence MD

David M. Lawrence, MD, MPH, is a prominent healthcare executive who served as CEO and Chairman of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals from 1991 to 2002, leading the organization for over 21 years and advancing quality and patient safety initiatives. Earlier in his career, he directed MEDEX Northwest (1973-1977), worked in public health, and held faculty positions at the University of Washington. Post-retirement, he has engaged in consulting, writing, teaching, and advising healthcare companies and venture capital firms.
