David L Harris

David Harris was a prominent antiwar activist, journalist, and author who refused military conscription in 1968, leading to a three-year prison sentence, during which his son Gabriel was born to his then-wife Joan Baez. After his release, he worked as a journalist for Rolling Stone, The New York Times Magazine, and The New Yorker, authored several books, and briefly ran for Congress in 1976. He later married Lacey Fosburgh, with whom he had daughter Sophie in 1983, before her death in 1993.
