David James
David E. James (born 1945) is a British-American film scholar, filmmaker, and poet, serving as Emeritus Professor of Critical Studies at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. He earned degrees from Cambridge University and the University of Pennsylvania, and has taught at numerous institutions worldwide including the University of California, New York University, and Beijing Film Academy. James authored key books like Allegories of Cinema: American Film in the Sixties (1989) and The Most Typical Avant-Garde (2006), alongside editing volumes on avant-garde filmmakers and publishing over 100 articles.[1][4]
