David Gates
David Gates (born January 8, 1947) is an American novelist, journalist, and teacher known for his works exploring dysfunctional families and antiheroes. His debut novel Jernigan (1991) was a Pulitzer Prize finalist and National Book Critics Circle Award nominee, followed by Preston Falls (1998) and short story collections The Wonders of the Invisible World (1999) and A Hand Reached Down to Guide Me (2015).[1][2][4]
