David G McCullough

David Gaub McCullough was an acclaimed American historian and author known for his exhaustively researched biographies of American figures, including two Pulitzer Prize-winning works on presidents Harry Truman and John Adams.[1][3] Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he graduated with a B.A. in English literature from Yale University in 1955 and began his career in journalism before becoming a full-time writer with books like The Johnstown Flood and The Path Between the Seas.[1][3] He also hosted PBS programs such as The American Experience and narrated documentaries including Ken Burns's The Civil War, receiving honors like the Presidential Medal of Freedom.[1][2]
