David F. Labaree

David F. Labaree is an emeritus sociologically oriented historian of education at the Stanford University Graduate School of Education, known for his extensive research on the relationship between education and society in the United States. He is a former president of the History of Education Society and has authored notable books such as 'Someone Has to Fail' and 'A Perfect Mess: The Unlikely Ascendancy of American Higher Education'.
