David Chandler
David Geoffrey Chandler (1934–2004) was a British military historian specializing in the Napoleonic era and the Age of Marlborough. He served briefly in the army, reaching the rank of captain, and later became Head of the Department of War Studies at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, where he taught for 15 years. Renowned for his classic work 'The Campaigns of Napoleon,' he authored numerous books on early 18th- and 19th-century military history and was a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
