David Buisseret

David Buisseret is a historian specializing in cartography and the history of discoveries, currently serving as the Jenkins and Virginia Garrett Professor of History at the University of Texas, Arlington. He previously directed the Hermon Dunlap Smith Center for the History of Cartography at the Newberry Library in Chicago and was a professor of history at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica from 1964 to 1980. He is the author of works including Port Royal, Jamaica and Historic Illinois from the Air.
