David Boaz
David Boaz was a leading libertarian thinker, author of *The Libertarian Mind: A Manifesto for Freedom*, and editor of *The Libertarian Reader*, who served over four decades at the Cato Institute as vice president for public policy and executive vice president, shaping the libertarian movement.[1][3] He was a prolific commentator on issues like education choice, drug legalization, and government growth, and previously edited *New Guard* magazine and led the Council for a Competitive Economy before joining Cato in 1981.[1][4] Boaz died on June 7, 2024, at age 70 after battling cancer.[2][3]
