David Birch

David L. Birch (born 1937) is an American economist renowned for his pioneering research on small businesses and job creation. In 1979, while at MIT, he published 'The Job Generation Process,' demonstrating that most new U.S. jobs come from small and new companies, challenging prevailing economic views. His 1987 book 'Job Creation in America' expanded on this, influencing policy and establishing the field of small business economics despite criticisms.
