David A Avant

David A. Avant Jr. was a southern historian, genealogist, and writer known for his work on colonial families. He authored 'Some Southern Colonial Families: A Revision of Florida Pioneers and Their Alabama, Georgia, Carolina, Maryland and Virginia Ancestors' in 1974. He died of bone cancer at his home in San Luis Ridge while working on three additional books.
