Dave Holland
Dave Holland is an English jazz double bassist, composer, and bandleader born on October 1, 1946, in Wolverhampton, England. He gained prominence playing at Ronnie Scott's in London, joining Miles Davis's band in 1968 for albums like Filles de Kilimanjaro, In a Silent Way, and Bitches Brew, before relocating to the US in the early 1970s and forming influential groups like Circle, Gateway Trio, and his own quintet and big band, earning multiple Grammys.[1][2][5]
