Datus C. Proper

Datus C. Proper (1934–2003) was an American political analyst with the U.S. State Department Foreign Service, as well as an outdoors writer and fly fisherman. After retiring from the State Department in 1987, he became a full-time writer in Montana and was best known for his book "What the Trout Said."
