Dartagnan

Charles de Batz de Castelmore d'Artagnan was a real-life French lieutenant-captain of the King's Musketeers born in Gascony around 1613, who became the historical inspiration for Alexandre Dumas' legendary character in *The Three Musketeers* [1][6]. He died at the age of approximately 60 on June 25, 1673, during the siege of Maastricht in the Franco-Dutch War, when he was struck by a musket ball [1][8]. His life was later fictionalized by Gatien de Courtilz de Sandras and subsequently used by Dumas as the main source for his d'Artagnan Romances [1][5].
