Danna Smith

Danna Smith is an award-winning poet and children's author who has written over twenty-five books, including nonfiction titles like *The Hawk of the Castle*, a Junior Library Guild Selection and Bank Street College Best Children’s Book, and fun sing-along books like *Rooftop Garden*. Growing up on her family’s rural Utah property surrounded by exotic animals due to her falconer father's influence, she developed a deep connection to nature that shapes her engaging stories for young readers. She lives in northern California with her husband, children, and grandchildren.[1]
