Daniel Van Winkle

Daniel Van Winkle (1816–1886) was an American author and real estate developer who wrote historical works including 'A genealogy of the Van Winkle family,' 'History of the municipalities of Hudson County, New Jersey, 1630-1923,' and 'Old Bergen.' He opened a real estate office in Depot Square (now Station Square) to sell land for the Rutherfurd Park Association and laid out the street grid for Rutherford, New Jersey, also donating land for a train station in 1866.[1][4]
