Daniel L. Hartl
Daniel L. Hartl is the Higgins Professor of Biology in the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University and Professor of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His research focuses on evolutionary genomics, molecular evolution, population genetics, and the molecular evolution of drug resistance, particularly in the malaria parasite, using model organisms like fruit flies, nematodes, yeast, and bacteria. A prolific author of over 30 books including 'Essential Genetics and Genomics' and more than 400 scientific articles, he has received prestigious awards such as the Thomas Hunt Morgan Medal and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
