Daniel E. Bender
Daniel E. Bender is a professor of history and food studies at the University of Toronto, where he serves as the Canada Research Chair in Global Culture (or Cultural History and Analysis) and Director of the Culinaria Research Centre. His research examines food, drink, empire, and global labor history, including projects on wine, sommeliers, and around-the-world travel's impact on eating habits. He is the author of three books, co-editor of two others, and was elected president of the Association for the Study of Food and Society in 2025.
