Daniel Berg

Daniel Berg (born June 1, 1929, in New York City) is an educator, scientist, and former president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1985. He earned degrees in physics and chemistry from City College of New York, followed by master's and doctoral degrees in physical chemistry from Yale University in 1951 and 1953. His career included nearly 25 years at Westinghouse Electric Corporation, rising to technical director, and key academic roles at Carnegie Mellon University as Dean of the Mellon College of Science and Provost before leading Rensselaer.[4][1][5]
