Danfeng (Daphne) Yao

Danfeng (Daphne) Yao is a Professor of Computer Science at Virginia Tech, where she serves as an Elizabeth and James E. Turner Jr. '56 Faculty Fellow, CACI Faculty Fellow, IEEE Fellow, and AAAS Fellow. Her research focuses on cyber defenses, machine learning for digital health, system and software security, enterprise data security, and deployable security tools like CryptoGuard. She earned her Ph.D. in computer science from Brown University in 2007, M.S. in chemistry from Princeton University, M.S. in computer science from Indiana University Bloomington, and B.S. in chemistry from Peking University, China.
