D. W Phillipson

David Walter Phillipson FBA FSA is a British archaeologist specializing in African archaeology, with his most notable work focused on Ethiopia, particularly the archaeology of Aksumite sites.[1][3] He served as curator of the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Cambridge from 1981 to 2006 and as Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, from 1988 to 2006.[1] He is now Emeritus Professor of African Archaeology at the University of Cambridge and Emeritus Fellow of Gonville and Caius College.[2]
