D. H. (David Herbert) Lawrence
D.H. Lawrence (1885–1930) was an influential English novelist, poet, essayist, and playwright, born in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, into a working-class family. His major novels, including Sons and Lovers (1913), The Rainbow (1915), Women in Love (1920), and Lady Chatterley's Lover, explored themes of sexuality, class, modernity, and the human condition, often challenging conventions and facing censorship. He traveled extensively in later life and died of tuberculosis complications in Vence, France, at age 44.[1][2][4]
