Cynthia Voigt

Cynthia Voigt is an American young adult author born in Boston, Massachusetts, known for her well-developed characters, compelling plots, and exploration of serious topics such as child abandonment, racism, and personal hardship. She began her writing career in 1981 while teaching English and has authored more than two dozen books, winning the Newbery Medal in 1983 for Dicey's Song and numerous other prestigious awards.
