The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) is a renowned private culinary college founded in 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut, to train returning World War II veterans for careers in the restaurant industry. It later moved its main campus to Hyde Park, New York, and has grown into one of the world’s leading institutions for professional culinary education.
