Sir Richard Hadlee is a legendary New Zealand cricketer and author of the book 'Cricket: The Essentials of the Game' (also titled 'Hadlee on Cricket - The Essentials of the Game'), published in 1982. Renowned as one of the greatest all-rounders in cricket history, he played 86 Test matches, taking 431 wickets and scoring over 3,000 runs. Knighted for his services to cricket, Hadlee contributed significantly to New Zealand's cricketing success.
